Out of all my projects, Our ClassXRoom is what I am by far the proudest of. It contains a huge amount of my experiences as both a UX Designer and a Unity developer and deserves its own page that will be a more intimate story of my journey.
Due to the complex nature of this project, this timeline page is still very early in its design phase, but I was able to edit a montage background video in the header to give a glancing overview of it.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. I aim to have this story told very soon, in the meantime, here is a crude early build of the page.
"Disrupt and expand the status quo of a market or idea."
This was the challenge prompt at the beginning of the Capstone semesters of my New Media major. I knew this was my opportunity to begin a passion project, so I began brainstorming ideas.
I knew right away I wanted to create a VR experience but was feeling doubtful that it would make a good capstone. After several other app ideas, I decided to go for it. I have been a VR enthusiast since my purchase of a Vive Pro in March of 2020 and having several years of experience using Unity Engine already, I knew it was time.
At first, I wanted to make a game but that didn't feel like a proper Capstone project. Then I had the idea of making it an educational platform, and quickly became passionate about the idea of bringing the magic school bus into the classroom - and thus the first idea of "Our ClassXRoom" was made.
With my UX design background, I knew the next step was research. Lots and lots of research.
